The Ted Noffs Foundation is a Non Government Organisation with Head Office based in Sydney.
Ted Noffs has a focus on the welfare and futures of young people. To achieve this Ted Noffs operates a number of Drug and Alcohol Programs in NSW and the ACT, and Training, Education and Employment Enterprises in Liverpool and Surrey Hills. Ted Noffs also operates Social Enterprises throughout Sydney.

Ted Noffs is looking for 3 highly motivated and capable individuals. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer or his delegated officer, in this case Dr. Jagdish Dua, Manager of Research and Evaluation.

In this role you will be responsible for working with and supporting Senior Staff of the Organisation by delivering formal proposal documents, tender responses, submissions and policy documents. You will also support the Management with complex opportunities which require a timely and detailed response. In what is very much a `hands-on' role you will collate information from the various sources providing input into the tender/submission process, ensuring accuracy and relevancy of information, and ensure that all key criteria and questions are covered. You will ensure adherence to governance whilst delivering a carefully conceived document, professional in its presentation and delivered on time, incorporating submission documents, technical and programmatic specifications, costing, and pricing overview as well as any contractual obligations.

BACKGROUND
Your background will have seen you have at least 2 years similar experience in a policy/submission/academic writing role, with a strong preference of it being gained within the Social Sciences or Health industry. You will possess excellent documentations skills. Process and Project Management skills are also essential elements of this challenging and demanding role, which is seen as a key provider in the continued growth and success of the organization. You may be a Student, Researcher or Journalist who is looking for part time work or a change of career.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Taking a brief, writing, editing and proofing submissions, presentations and documents; assisting with the creation of promotional materials in compliance with Ted Noffs policy

• Contributing to the development of program plans and organisational strategies
• Developing abstracts, manuscripts, posters, slide presentations on clinical and/or scientific information
• Providing training and guidance to the broader team on clinical and pharmaceutical information
• Developing and maintaining internal information sources including updated website and newsletters
• Working across various new concepts whilst managing time and monitoring deadlines
• Achieve consistently high quality on all writing projects
• Developing and implementing strategic communication plans in close collaboration with the COO and CEO
• Working with various Team Leaders to forward plan resource for future needs
• Reviewing written materials from various organisational divisions
• Contributing to project specifications and cost estimates on assigned accounts working closely with the Finance team


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• An undergraduate degree in health, welfare or social sciences – Honours, Masters or PhD preferred
• Writing experience within communications
• Proven experience in writing in the health, education, welfare or social sciences area
• Ability to produce written materials of high academic quality that meet organisational strategic marketing objectives
• Expert working knowledge of Health and Education communications

Program Co-ordinator
35 hours per week
Guthrie House (Enmore)

Guthrie House is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation and transition service for women (and their accompanying children) who are involved in the criminal justice system. Guthrie House is seeking a Program Co-ordinator to oversee case management, and outreach in relation to its residents. The position will provide supervision and support to support workers ensuring they have the resources, needed to undertake their casework responsibilities. The position will also co-ordinate and develop the group work program of Guthrie house. When necessary, the Program Co-ordinator will act in the Manager’s position.

 

Essential
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in the Social Sciences;
• Experience in alcohol and other drug support or treatment work in the community or government sector;
• A comprehensive understanding of pharmacotherapy treatment, and where it fits within the sector;
• Some experience in supervision and/or management;
• Comprehensive understanding of all elements of program delivery and Quality Improvement;
• Case management competencies, both system level and individual client level;
• Group facilitation skills and experience;
• Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively within a team;
• Demonstrated high level communication and report writing skills;
• Commitment to women’s justice issues; • Current driver’s license.

 

Desirable
• Knowledge of contemporary issues in the criminal justice system;
• Relevant knowledge of housing options for disadvantaged people;

 

Salary SACS award grade 6, plus super, leave loading and salary packaging options. Preferred applicants will be subject to employment screening.

The Lesbian and Gay Anti-Violence Project is seeking a motivated person to fill the role of AVP (Anti-Violence Project) Coordinator. The successful applicant will be responsible for the efficient operation of ACON’s anti-homophobic and same sex domestic violence activities. ACON is seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful person to coordinate the administration of the Lesbian and Same Sex Attracted Women’s Health Project to support and expand ACON’s programs to this part of our community through peer education activities, social marketing, community development activities, communication strategies, promotion and resource development. You will also work and liaise with other health and community services, businesses, venues and events to enhance their understanding and capacity to effectively meet the needs of lesbian and same sex attracted women, ensuring that ACON acts as a major community resource in this regard.

 

You will have a demonstrated understanding of community development and health promotion principles and knowledge of lesbian and same-sex attracted women’s communities. Capacity to design, implement and evaluate health promotion activities as well as effective communication skills is essential.

 

This is a full time position (35 hours/week) and it’s based in Sydney.

• Persons attending these groups should have a minimum 2 years clean time
• Demonstrated experience in case work
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated capacity to work with AOD clients with high complex needs
• Willing to abide by the program’s philosophy of care
• Must have Computer skills in data base, excel and word
• Driver’s licence for 14 seat bus or willing upgrade lic

• Fitness certificate
• A person that exercise’s regularly

• Self starter, highly motivated
