6 October 2021
12:00pm – 1:00pm
Online meeting, At your computer,

Panel facilitator Michelle Ridley (NADA), panel members include: Carolyn Stubley (Nurse Manager, WHOS), Cameron Leiper (Coordinator, Continuing Coordinated Care Program, Broken Hill/Far Western NSW, Mission Australia), Frances Pidcock (Clinical Operations Manager, Buttery) and Norm Henderson (Senior AOD Officer, Weigelli Aboriginal Corporation and Board Director, Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation Network)

About this forum:

In NADA’s latest member feedback survey, a common theme members reported wanting support with, was more chances to interact with other members to enhance networks and referral pathways. This was highlighted as especially important for regional and rural services, and across outpatient and resi rehab programs. However as we know building referrals pathways isn’t straightforward. Due to a lack of funding and resources across our sector, it’s very difficult for services to accept every referral for support and meet the demand for treatment, especially for resi rehab programs. In this forum we will start the conversations about how we as a sector can better facilitate referral pathways for people who are most in need of treatment. We will hear from residential and community based/outpatient services about ways that we can enhance networks and referral pathways.

This forum the panel will discuss:

  • Experiences from frontline services on what works well to facilitate and enhance referral pathways between different member services
  • Practical tips on ways services can build networks and interact more with each other
  • Ideas for where to next and ways to move forward in building networks and partnerships
  • Ideas from members to how NADA can assist members to network and interact more
