Description
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct assessments, including risk assessments.
· Provide one‑to‑one and group counselling.
· Refer clients to appropriate services.
· Deliver group therapy on substance misuse and relapse prevention.
· Facilitate wellbeing programs including DBT skills and DFV education.
· Collaborate to develop client goals and care plans.
· Partner with local health and community agencies for coordinated care.
· Maintain accurate records and follow‑up documentation.
Requirement
Selection Criteria – Essential Qualifications & Experience
· Certificate IV or Diploma in Mental Health, AOD, Counselling or related field.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting AOD and co‑existing mental health needs.
Cultural Capability
· Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing.
· Awareness of cultural practices, family structures and community contexts.
· Insight into challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
Professional Skills
· Ability to provide culturally safe, high‑quality care.
· Knowledge of evidence‑based treatment and care coordination.
· Strong interpersonal and liaison skills.
Administrative & Communication Skills
· Accurate record keeping and data management.
· Competent computer skills.
· Strong written skills including case notes and reports.
Additional Requirements
· Senior First Aid Certificate (within 3 months).
· Current NSW Driver's Licence.
